New Vehicle for NEOS

We have been praying for a new vehicle for NEOS for many years now.  As a result of your prayers, our prayers, and the generous financial giving of one special family, NEOS now has a new vehicle.   It is a 2006 KIA K2700 with only 45,000K on it.   Praise the Lord.
Also, please pray for us as we sell the two NEOS vehicles currently being used in order to be able to begin saving for the purchase of one more KIA K2700 for NEOS.
We must have two vehicles by April of 2009 in order to use
them during our annual Vacation Bible School.   We will be needing about $10,000.

Will Kammel

Will Kammel traveled to the Philippines with our family this summer. He was with us from June 21 to August 4, 2008.  Here is what Will has to say about his time in the Philippines:
This has been one of the most enjoyable trips I have ever had.   Getting to know one of my home church's "missionary families" has been really neat.   Mike and Valerie have been able to challenge me in my faith and have caused me to grow many times during my visit with them.   I am so grateful for them being placed in Tagum by God to have the ministry they have.
One of the reasons I was excited about this trip is because, unlike other mission trips, the setting here is REAL LIFE.   I was able to simply live their life with them.   I was really happy to be able to watch and participate in how they interact with their staff,  the people at NEOS, and how they handle real life situations that come about.  Then, I was able to jump into whatever was going on and be challenged with all the different types of outreach they have.
One of the main things I will take from this whole trip is how important prayer is and how strong it really is.   Before I came, I asked God to take me out of my comfort zone and challenge me.   Two days after we arrived in Tagum I was asked to speak at their first Youth Fellowship meeting of the year.   I reluctantly agreed and only later did I remember asking God for that very thing to happen.   If I had said no, it would have been as if I was shoving God's gift back in His face.   God really does answer prayer, and when He does, we had better take it and do what He wants us to do.   Along with my own prayers, the Boados take everything to prayer.   If a problem came about with NEOS, the family, or while traveling, the first thing that happened was we prayed before doing anything.   Multiple times I saw the prayers answered. Just seeing all these thing has really helped me grow in my faith.   I know first hand that God does and will answer your prayers.

Stand By Gang

June 18 - July 8, 2008

The Boado Family left Bloomington on June 18 and arrived home in Tagum on July 8.  We flew stand-by from LAX to Manila.

We left LAX on June 23 and arrived in Manila on June 29.  It was quite an adventure and we made memories that will last a lifetime.  Val, Esther, DeeAnn, and Alayna had the joy of staying in Houston for 3 nights while waiting to get on a flight to Tokyo.  Thanks Meredith for the slumber parties.  We have no complaints as God is faithful and we again saw His glory during our trip.

Friends and Family

The best part of being in the USA was being with family and friends.  We had a wonderful year and God took super care of us.   We want to extend our thanks to everyone who had a part in God's super duper care of us.   Thank you soooo much.   We have seen God's glory.

Dual Citizen

May 22 and June 12, 2008

On May 22, Mike became an American citizen. Then, on June 12, he became a dual citizen. A dual citizen is one who is a citizen of two countries. Mike is now a citizen of both the USA and the Philippines. Mike's dual citizenship makes traveling and living in the Philippines hassle-free for our family.  We are so grateful to God for His part in granting us this privilege.

Vacation Bible School 2008

April 21-25, 2008
The NEOS Vacation Bible School (VBS) was a great success. The theme was God has a Plan for your Life using the story of the life of Joseph.  The Bible verse was Psalm 119:9. There were 243 children registered and 45 decisions for Christ.

Musical Munchkins

The Boado children are very musical.  Steven plays the saxophone, drums, guitar, and piano. Esther plays the piano and also sings.  DeeAnn sings. While in the USA they made music together 32 times.  They really enjoy praising the Lord together with their music. They are working on a name to use to call themselves.
