Vacation Bible School 2007

April 23-27, 2007

Our theme at VBS was the Tabernacle. We learned that no matter where you go or what you do, if you are a child of God, then God is always with you. Our verse was Exodus 33:14. There were 223 children registered for the week and 8 of those children prayed to receive Christ. One child was counseled for assurance. It was truly the best VBS we have had as we were able to do the whole five days entirely inside the NEOS building. We kept right on going even during the rain. What a blessing.

Easter Sunday 2007

April 8, 2007

On Easter Sunday afternoon, we had 24 children and 10 adults come to our home to hear the Easter story and then to hunt for Easter eggs. Valerie told the entire story of Holy Week using a variety of visual aids. She then played a review game of the story using the Resurrection Eggs. Each plastic Easter egg contained one symbol of Holy Week. The students enjoyed hearing that eggs are a symbol of new life and that Easter is the story of how God gave us new life in Jesus. Then, after the story, the students were able to have a joyful time looking for real eggs and plastic eggs both. It was a fun time as well as a learning time for all.
